It's official, our show's name is "The Heart of Lothian", which has no real connection to our music, except the whole 'Scotland' thing. If my Scottish roots were thicker, I might be offended. Let's think about this; the heart of Lothian is some spot in Edinburgh, laced deep with Scottish culture and history. That's cool. Naming our show after it is a little weird, if you ask me. It's like making a Marching Band show with "I'm Beginning to See the Light", "Wham Bam, Thank You, Ma'am", and "Salt Peanuts" (Three classics of jazz, for those of you who aren't so educated by Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, and Dizzy Gillespie, respectively) and calling the show "The Gettysburg Extravaganza" or "The Bunker Hill Blues". Sure, the two titles are distinctly American names, and the jazz music is also distinctly American, but that doesn't mean the two have ANYTHING to do with each other at all!
But hey, it's Marching Band. Marching Band never totally made sense anyway. Go Gators. And whenever you're marching the show, just remember, "If it's not Scottish, it's CRAP!"
